Wheat Dosa/ Broken Wheat Dosa

Wheat Dosa/ Broken Wheat Dosa

Super easy, healthy, super delicious breakfast recipe!

This is one of the most loved and appreciated , healthy breakfast recipes in our family.

Here, instead of rice,  broken wheat is used for the batter.

Broken wheat, also known as dalia or cracked wheat, is a whole grain made from coarsely milled wheat kernels that is nutritious and rich in fiber, iron, and B vitamins.

These dosas are a healthy option for your kids lunch box.

Those who had these dosas in our house couldn't believe that it's made out of wheat. These come out  as tasty and as perfect as rice dosas.

I feel these are much softer, crispier and tastier than rice dosas.

Please Note:

Here i have used a pinch  of yeast for fermentation. You can skip this if you don't prefer. Instead of yeast add little more methi seeds.

Here is a simple easy recipe with just 4 ingredients.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup broken wheat
  • 1/4 cup urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • pinch of yeast

Method:

Wash and soak broken wheat and urad dal for 2-3 hours.

Add these soaked ingredients along with methi seeds, add required  quantity water and grind to a fine paste.

Pour this paste to a vessel, add a pinch of yeast . Mix well .
The batter should be slightly thick like dosa batter consistency.
Cover and keep it aside overnight or for 6-8 hours.

You can find this fluffy dosa batter.
Add salt to taste.

Heat dosa pan.  Grease with oil or ghee.

Pour a ladle full of batter and gently spread .  Cover and cook for 2 minutes .

Super soft, extremely delicious, flavourful dosa is ready to serve.

Serve with Chutney or Sambar. It's super yummy!

You can make crispy dosa too with this batter.

Serve these crispy dosa with chutney and sambar.

These are super crispy and tastier than soft dosas.

Try this healthy, tasty recipe and enjoy with your loved ones.
