Mutton Masala

Try this delicious recipe.
This super delicious lamb curry can be prepared easily & quickly with few basic ingredients available at home.
Soft , juicy lamb meat is cooked in onion-tomato gravy is i am sure, the best dish on the dinner table.
This dish can be served with rice, roti, chapathi or naan. Goes very well with panpole, apams or sanna.
Here is a step by step recipe for this delicious dish.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS :
1/2 kg mutton ( cleaned & cubed)
For masala:
- 2 large onions sliced
- 1-2 green chillies ( use as per your choice)
- 1/2" ginger chopped
- 8 flakes of garlic chopped
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 large tomatoes chopped
- 2-3 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder
- 2 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp tamarind pulp
- Pinch of sugar
- Salt to taste.
- Coriander & mint leaves for garnishing.
Potatoes & carrots ( optional)
METHOD:
Heat 2 tbsp ghee & 2 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker.
Add onion, fry till translucent. Add chopped garlic, ginger , chillies & ginger garlic paste, fry & mix well.
Add tomatoes & all masala powders. Mix well. ( Kindly add the masala powders as per your choice)
Add mutton, mix well. Add salt, sugar, tamarind pulp. Mix well. Add 1 cup water & cover.
Cook for 15-20 minutes. (Cooking time depends on the quality of meat)
Add potatoes & carrots & boil till done.
Sprinkle coriander/ mint leaves & take one good boil.
Delicious mutton masala is ready.
Served it with Semolina Naan.
Goes well with naan or neeru dosa/ panpole.
