Rice Appe
Rice appe is a popular South Indian snack which is served with sambar or chutney. It is also called as 'Paddu', 'Paniyaram' or 'guliappa'.
This delicious snack is prepared with fermented ground rice batter. These can be prepared plain or sweet .
Some add urad dal with rice but I prepare this without urad dal .
My family loves sweet appe for evening tea & plain ones with chutney or sambar for breakfast. Sweet appe was our most favourite snack during childhood days.
This is a very easy recipe & can be enjoyed any time of the day.
I have used same ingredients for both the varieties but added only jaggery & cardamom for the sweeter version.
Try this easy appe recipe for your breakfast or evening tea.
