Wheat Laddu

These yummy laddus are most popular across North India. 

They are  super delicious, aromatic and just melt in your mouth .  This is my younger son's most favourite sweet  & i make sure to prepare these everytime  he comes down on a vacation. 

These laddus are made by slow roasting Wheat flour till aromatic. The divine aroma of ghee , cardamom & slow roasted flour  spreads in the entire kitchen.  These mouth watering laddus can be prepared  quickly & easily with just  5 ingredients. 

Dry fruits added in this recipe, gives awesome taste , crunch & richness to these laddus. I have used my favourite dry fruits. You can use any preferred dry fruits or can be prepared without any dryfruits. 

Make sure to use exact proportion of ingredients mentioned here to prepare these mouth watering laddus. 

Here is a quick & easy recipe. 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup wheat flour ( 200 ml cup)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup ghee
  • 1/2 cup dryfruits ( optional)
  • 5 cardamoms 

Method:


Add sugar & cardamom to the mixer grinder and grind to fine powder. 

Heat a wide deep pan. Add wheat flour & dry fruits ( chopped cashewnuts & almonds) . 

Dry roast on a very slow flame. 

Keep stirring continuously till it turns aromatic and colour changes to slight brown. Don't allow the flour to burn.  It took around 6-8 minutes for me. 

Add raisins & mix for another 30 seconds. 

Now add ghee & mix well for another 1 minute. 

Switch off the flame. 

Add powdered sugar. Mix well. 

Keep mixing till you get this greasy texture. 
Allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes. 

Take required portion & roll to balls.

Super delicious laddus are ready. 
I prepared medium size 23 laddus.
