How to preserve Coriander leaves?

How to preserve Coriander for about a month in the refrigerator?

Coriander/ dhania is one of the oldest herbs used in Indian cuisine. It is used in  curries, chutneys, soups and also used as a garnishing ingredient to enhance the flavour of many delicacies.

It's a difficult task to preserve this herb for a longer time as it will be rotten soon & discarded. People follow different methods  to store this herb fresh for long.  But i have been following this tip from many years & thought of sharing this with you all.

Follow this simple easy method to preserve this herb fresh for about 3 to 4 weeks.

1. Buy fresh coriander.

Remove the weeds and grass and cut the roots.

3. Do not wash.
Make sure there is absolutely no moisture  on leaves.

4. Place it in an airtight container.

5. Cover & store it in the refrigerator.

After 1 week

Whenever needed, take the required quantity. Wash thoroughly 2-3 times and use.

Store the remaining stems in the refrigerator.

After 2 weeks

Leaves are still fresh.

If there is any moisture on the leaves, gently pat dry with a tissue paper or a kitchen towel.

Use the required quantity &  store the remaining stems in the refrigerator.

After 3 weeks

Leaves are still fresh but  you can find few yellow and rotten leaves.

Fourth week

Discard rotten leaves & store the remaining in the refrigerator.

This way you can store the coriander leaves for about 3-4 weeks.

Hope you liked this tip.
