Lady fish/kane jiren mirin curry

LADY FISH/KANE JIREN MIRIN CURRY

This is my most favourite curry as Lady fish (kane) is my favourite fish. The natural oil in this fish  makes this curry so glossy and super delicious.

This curry is called jiren-mirin curry as jiren(jeera) & mirin(pepper) are the main ingredients which gives authentic flavour & taste to this dish.

Apart from Lady fish, this curry suits well for  few other fish like shethkan, silver fish/bolenjir , prawns etc.

My mom was an expert in fish currys. She used to prepare different masala for different fish. Sea fish small size / large , river fish small / large, shel fish.. different masalas like, amshi thikshi kudi, shirko shindap, jiren-mirin, losun mirin, rosachi kadi, etc.etc.

Fish curry with boiled rice is an excellent combination.  We can enjoy this curry even with sannas, neeru dosa, appam or chapathi. I love this curry with few potatoes. You can skip this if you wish.

  1. Thanks for this recipe Lavi. I tried it yesterday with some modifications as I didnt have bedgi chillies so used kashmiri and guntur (after a call to my parents who advised of this). Turned out so good, a different color to yours but so yum!!
