Chicken Flower Momos

CHICKEN FLOWER MOMOS


This is a super delicious appetizer which needs very few ingredients and can be prepared without putting in much effort. 

Delicately flavoured Chicken mince balls are coated with flavourful basmati rice & steamed!

A very healthy dish as it is steamed and no oil is used in the preparation. 

This super healthy,  less spicy,  flavourful dish is loved by everyone especially enjoyed by the kids & is an ideal choice for their birthday  parties or their lunch box.

This is the best choice to have as an appetizer or a side dish with fried rice and noodles. 


RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

A.

  • 250 gms Chicken mince (Any mince meat of your choice)
  • 1 medium finely chopped onion
  • 1-2 finely chopped green chillies( as per your choice) ( i used 1/4 tsp green chilly sauce  instead)
  • 1 tsp giner garlic paste
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper ( as per your choice)
  •  2 tbsp  soy sauce 
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste.

B.

100 grams basmati rice.

Method: 


Wash & soak basmati rice for 20 minutes. 
Drain & keep aside. 


In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients under A. 
Mix well. Keep it aside for 10 minutes. 


Make small balls out of the mince mixture. 


Roll the balls in basmati rice. 


Make sure that the rice is  coated well on all sides. 


Place these balls in the steamer. 
Steam for 10 -12 minutes. 


Delicious flower momos are ready. 


Serve hot with momo sauce*. 

*RECIPE FOR MOMO SAUCE


MOMO SAUCE

METHOD:

In a sauce pan add 1/2 cup water , add 3-4 dry red chillies ( byadagi) , 3 medium tomatoes & boil for 2-3 minutes. 

Slightly cool the tomatoes & peel the skin. 

Add peeled tomatoes & red chillies to the blender & grind to fine paste. 

Heat 1tbsp oil, add 1 tsp gralic minced, 1 tsp ginger minced, fry till its aromatic. Add ground paste, add 1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp tomato sauce, salt to taste, 1 tsp sugar & 1/2 tsp vinegar. Mix well. Sprinkle few spring onion toppings. 



Serve with momos.
