Turmeric Leaves Patholi/Haldi Kolyachi Patholi(Sweet Rice Rolls Steamed in Turmeric Leaves)
This sweet reminds me my childhood days when we used to return hungry from school & could smell the divine fragrance of turmeric leaves from far. We siblings would just throw our school bags & run to the kitchen to relish these delicious patholis.
All such traditional dishes remind me my sweet mom who used to prepare such dishes often.
This dish is usually prepared during monsoon season when turmeric leaves are available in large numbers.
This is a healthy, oil free sweet with the goodness of turmeric leaves.
Ground rice paste is applied to the leaves , stuffed with jaggery coconut mixture in the centre & steamed.
The divine aroma of turmeric leaves just spreads through entire house while steaming these delicious patholis.
Here is a step by step recipe to prepare this monsoon delicacy.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 kg boiled rice
- 1 grated coconut
- 1/2 kg jaggery (use as per your choice)
- 1/4tsp cardamom powder
- Salt to taste
- 20-25 turmeric leaves.
