Coconut Sponge Dosa

COCONUT SPONGE DOSA

These super soft, spongy dosas with mild coconut flavour are my family's most favourite dosas.

These fluffy, tasty dosas are perfect for breakfast with mint chutney & sambar.

The preparation needs no urad dal & can be enjoyed with any meat, fish or vegetable curry of your choice.

I have added yeast for fermentation but you can add 1/2 tsp methi instead of yeast for fermentation purpose.

I used apam pan for frying these dosas. You can use normal dosa pan.

Here is a step by step recipe.

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups dosa rice (Soaked for 3 hours)
  • One & half cup poha(soaked for 5 minutes)
  • One & half cup coconut
  • 1/4 tsp yeast
  • Salt & sugar to taste.

METHOD:

Grind rice with poha & coconut to fine paste.

Add yeast & mix well.

Keep aside overnight for fermentation.

Fermented batter.

Heat pan, grease little ghee or oil. Pour a ladle full of batter. Do not spread. Cover & cook for 1-2 minutes.

Soft , fluffy dosa is ready.

 Super soft , fluffy centre.

Serve with any chutney or sambar of your choice.

Goes well with meat or fish curry too. Enjoy these melt in mouth dosas with your loved ones.
