DELICIOUS 5 IN ONE


SANNA/IDLI

One batter with just 4 ingredients  is used to make 5 different items. Isn't it interesting?? 

You can prepare,
SANNA/IDLI
PLAIN DOSA
CRISPY DOSA
ONION DOSA
PURNA SANNA( Adding jaggry coconut & cardamom powder mixture to the batter)

RECIPE:

I have used 200 ml cup for measurement.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dosa rice,
  • 1/4 cup udad daal,
  •  handful of poha. 
  • 1/4 tsp yeast.
  • Salt & sugar to taste

Method:

Just soak dal & rice for minimum 2 hours & grind to fine paste along with poha. Let the batter be slightly thicker than dosa batter.   Add  1/4 tsp yeast, mix well & ferment overnight.  

Next day add salt & sugar as needed and prepare these dishes as per your choice. 

You can add salt & 1 tsp sugar while fermenting if you are not keeping it overnight. 

You can make appe too with this batter.

Please note:

While making sannas , don't allow the batter to ferment fully. You have to start preparing sannas when the batter starts rising up.
