Beef Sukka



Beef Sukka is one of the favourite  dishes of my hubby. I prefer  beef Sukka among all beef dishes 

It's spicy , flavourful and truly super delicious. 

Beef is cooked with aromatic spices and grated coconut and served with chapati, parota or as a side dish any meal. Tastes awesome with simple dal and rice. 

There are many ways to prepare this but i prefer this very easy way of cooking this dish. 

This easy recipe  needs only a pressure cooker to prepare this delicious dish. No extra vessel is used.

.I used Bafat powder here. You can prepare bafat powder using the following link:

Or you can use store brought Bafat powder. 

.Kindly use spices as per your preference. 

.Cooking time depends on the quality of beef. Tender beef cooks faster. 

.Here i used only 1 tbsp ghee as the fat of beef is released during cooking process . 

.I prefer good amount of coconut in this recipe. You can use as per your choice. 

.You can even add few potato pieces. 

.Here i added fresh mint leaves from my garden. You can add coriander leaves instead. 


Here is a simple easy recipe. 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg beef ( cleaned & cut into cubes)
  • 1 large onion ( sliced)
  • 1 large tomato chopped 
  • 1/2" ginger chopped 
  • 8-10 garlic flakes chopped 
  • 2 green chillies 
  • Few curry leaves 
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1-2 tbsp bafat powder ( as required)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder 
  • 1 tsp tamarind pulp 
  • Few mint/coriander leaves for Garnishing 

Method:




Clean & cut beef as per your choice. 



Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pressure cooker. 

Add onion,  ginger, garlic fry for 2-3 minutes till it is slight brown. 



Add tomato, curry leaves. Fry for 1 minute. 

Now add the masala powders and coconut mix well & fry for 1 -2 minutes. 

Now add beef pieces, salt to taste, tamarind pulp, few mint leaves or coriander leaves. Mix well. 

Add only 1/2 cup water. Mix well .
Cover & cook on a high flame till you get 1st whistle. 

Reduce the flame & cook for 10-15 minutes. ( Cooking time depends on the quality of meat)

Allow the cooker to depressurize. 


Open the lid. You can find this aromatic, super delicious meat. 

Boil on a high flame for 1-2 minutes. 

Super delicious , flavourful beef Sukka is ready to serve.
  
Tastes awesome with bread or ghee rice / boiled rice.
