My younger son is here on vacation who loves to relish milk cream with sugar & so not much cream is left to prepare ghee. Hence i go for this easy method of preparing ghee at home.
Please note:
If the butter is in room temperature, then it will take only 10 minutes to prepare this ghee. If the butter is kept in the refrigerator, it will take around 12 minutes for the preparation.
You can use grass-fed organic butter for preparing organic ghee.
How to prepare easy ghee at home?
All you need is:
1. 500gms Unsalted butter
2. Cooking pot
Method:
Use good quality unsalted butter.
Add butter to the cooking pot & start heating.
Keep stirring on a high flame.
Within 3 minutes you can find a creamy texture.
Keep stirring and soon you can find the translucent upper layer with very little milk solids at the bottom.
Within another 2-3 minutes you can find these large bubbles .
Soon you can find this frothy texture start rising slowly.
Put off the flame & allow the residue settle down .
At this stage, some add cardamom, beetle leaves or salt while preparing ghee. But i prefer the natural aroma of ghee.
Delicious, flavourful ghee is ready in just 10-12 minutes.
Allow the mixture to cool down.
Gently pour this ghee to a clean airtight bottle or container. You can use the strainer to strain the ghee. But here i didn't use the strainer as there was hardly any residue.
In this method you can find very little residue as compared to the preparation of ghee with milk cream.
I got around 480 ml ghee from 500 gms of butter.
In 4-6 hours , you can find this creamy texture.
It's flavourful and so yum!
Follow this method and prepare your own tasty , easy ghee at home.
