This is the easiest & tastiest recipe of crispy , crunchy Guliyo/ Rice Marbles.

Guliyo/ Rice Marbles is one of the main sweets prepared during Christmas. No Kuswar( Christmas sweet platter) is complete without the traditional Guliyo/ Rice Marbles.

These have mild sweet taste and are super crispy and crunchy.

This Sweet is traditionally prepared by grinding the soaked rice with jaggery & coconut milk.

Here i tried this super quick and easy recipe where no soaking  and grinding rice is required.

As a trial round i prepared this in a small quantity and it turned out super  crispy and so yummy.

This sweet needs only 5 basic ingredients available at home and can be prepared easily.

Pathiri Podi

Here i have used pathiri podi.  Pathiri Podi is a special rice flour which is used to prepare rice pathiri & other eatables. This flour is available in most of the supermarkets

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup grated jaggery
  • 4 pods of cardamom ( powdered)
  • 2 & 1/4 cup Pathiri Podi
  • 1/2 tsp ghee
  • Salt to taste.

Method:

Add coconut milk to a wide vessel.

Add jaggery, cardamom powder, salt to taste.

Mix well till all the jaggery gets dissolved in the coconut milk.

Add pathiri powder.

Mix well.  You may need another 1-2 tbsp of coconut milk or water while kneading.

Add 1/2 tsp ghee.

Mix well to get such soft , smooth dough.

Pinch a small  marble size dough and roll into a smooth ball.

Similarly prepare all marbles.

My son helped to prepare these balls.

Heat enough quantity oil.
Gently drop in the marbles into medium hot oil.

Fry on a slow - medium flame till they turn golden brown.

Keep stirring to cook evenly on all sides.

Remove these marbles  and place on an absorbent paper.

Allow it to cool completely atleast for 1 hour.
They are super crispy and so delicious.
Store in an airtight container.

Prepare this delicious sweet for Christmas & enjoy with your loved ones.
