Suji Ka Halwa/Semolina Halwa

Suji ka halwa/ Semolina Halwa

This mouth watering sweet is prepared with semolina, ghee, sugar and milk.

Such  a delicious & melt in the mouth dish is  one of the favourite sweets relished by my family members .

The difference between suji ka halwa  and sheera/ kesari bath is that, here we use milk where as for sheera we use only water.

It's a very easy recipe which can be prepared within 12- 15 minutes if all the ingredients are kept ready  .

Such a delicious dish can be enjoyed for breakfast, evening tea , any snack parties or can be served for kids snack box.  This super delicious dish can be enjoyed as a dessert too after any meal.

Try this mouthwatering recipe.

Please note:

I used only 3/4 cup sugar in this recipe. Actual proportion is 1 cup. You can use as per your choice.

Here i have used less ghee. Actual proportion is 1 cup.

Use semolina, ghee, sugar & milk in equal proportions for a richer, authentic version.

Use ghee &  dry fruits as per your choice.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rava/semolina
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar ( i used 3/4 cup)
  • 4 cups of water
  • Few saffron strands
  • 3 -4 tbsp ghee
  • Little cardamom powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Few dry fruits

Method:

For 1 cup of rava, add 1 cup of milk and allow it to soak for 10-12 minutes.

Add few saffron strands to 4 cups of water & keep aside for 10 minutes.

Heat 1/4 tsp ghee & roast dry fruits & keep aside.

In the same pan add 3-4 tbsp ghee & add soaked  rava.

Mix well & fry for 5 minutes on a very low flame.

Mash with the potato masher to remove any lumps formed.

Fry for another 5 minutes on a medium flame.  Now you can see the change in colour.

Add water with safron. Boil for 2 minutes.

Add sugar & cook for another 2 minutes.

Add roasted dry fruits and  cardamom powder.

Mix well. Cover & leave aside for 5 minutes.

Delicious, super moist and super tasty suji  ka halwa is ready to serve.

This halwa is super  yummy &  just melts in the mouth.
