Prawn Pulao

Prawn pulao

This is one of the easiest and quickest one pot meal with very few basic ingredients. 

This aromatic, super delicious one pot meal could be the ideal choice for a weekend dinner menu. 

I have used medium size prawns. You can use any size as per your choice. 

I prefer this mild flavoured pulao with minimum ingredients. You can add few more masala powders or spices as per your choice. 

You can add few veggies of your choice too. 

This dish can be prepared quickly if the ingredients are kept ready in advance. 

Try this delicious recipe. 

Please note:

1. Use well cleaned, deveined prawns.

2. Use long grain basmati rice for better results. You can also use jeera rice for this recipe. 

3. I have used chicken stock in this recipe. You can use vegetable stock or plain water too. 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg cleaned, deveined prawns
  • 1 cup basmati rice ( 250 gms)
  • 2 tbsp ghee or oil
  • Whole garam masala (2 cardamoms, 3 cloves, 1/2" cinnamon, 1 star anise, 2 bay leaves)
  • 5-8 pepper corns
  • 2 green chillies ( slit)
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 finely chopped tomato 
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 cup chicken stock or vegetable stock
  • 1cup water 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • Salt to taste 

Method:


Wash & soak 1 cup basmati rice for 15-20 minutes. 
Drain & keep aside. 

Add 2 tbsp ghee to the cooking pan and add whole garam masala ingredients and pepper corns. Fry for 30 seconds. 
Add onion, green chillies,ginger garlic paste, fry for 1 minute. 

Add tomato. Mix well. 

Add prawns, turmeric powder. Mix well & cook for 1 minute. 

Add rice & garam masala powder. 

Add chicken stock + water , salt to taste, lemon juice. Mix well. 

Cook for 8-10 minutes. 

Cover & keep aside for 5-6 minutes. 

Delicious prawn pulao is ready to serve. 
It's super moist, flavourful & delicious 😋
