Kulta Kaat ani Kultache laadu( Field marrow with Horse gram curry & Horse gram Laddus

Image
Kulta kaat ani kultache ladoo Delicious 2 in one!  Mom's recipe!  I grew up eating this traditional  mangalorean delicacy  as my grandmother  and most of our relatives from villages often used to get field marrows from their  farms.  My mom used to prepare different curries with field marrow & this is one of the tastiest curries. A good quantity of horse gram boiled  water is used in this recipe. So, whenever i prepare this curry, i prepare kultache ladoo ( horse gram laddu,) from the leftover boiled horse gram .  These laddus are truly so delicious and nutritious. They are also called as energy balls as they are a great source of protein.  Try these two delicious recipes.  Kulta kaat/ Horse gram and field marrow curry  Recipe: Ingredients: 1 cup horse gram( 200 gms) 1 medium size field marrow Small piece of jaggery ( optional) Ingredients for the masala: 1/4 tsp jeera 1/4 tsp pepper Pinch of mustard 1-2 red short chillies ( guntur) 2 byadagi chillies Pi

Prawn Pulao

Prawn pulao This is one of the easiest and quickest one pot meal with very few basic ingredients.  This aromatic, super delicious one pot meal could be the ideal choice for a weekend dinner menu.  I have used medium size prawns. You can use any size as per your choice.  I prefer this mild flavoured pulao with minimum ingredients. You can add few more masala powders or spices as per your choice.  You can add few veggies of your choice too.  This dish can be prepared quickly if the ingredients are kept ready in advance.  Try this delicious recipe.  Please note: 1. Use well cleaned, deveined prawns. 2. Use long grain basmati rice for better results. You can also use jeera rice for this recipe.  3. I have used chicken stock in this recipe. You can use vegetable stock or plain water too.  Recipe: Ingredients: 1/2 kg cleaned, deveined prawns 1 cup basmati rice ( 250 gms) 2 tbsp ghee or oil Whole garam masala (2 cardamoms, 3 cloves, 1/2" cinnamon, 1 star anise, 2 bay leaves)

Chicken Puffs

Chicken Puffs This is the most loved tea time snack in our house.  Prepare these super crispy, delicious puffs at home with your favourite meat or veg filling.  This is the easiest recipe which is prepared with ready made puff pastry sheets.  I have used these ready made pastry sheets. You can prepare these at home too.  I have used chicken keema  for the filling. You can use any leftover meat dry dish , chicken sukka or shredded chicken fry pieces for the filling.  This crispy , flaky snack is the best choice for any birthday parties or Kitty parties. Can be served as an appetizer too.  Please note: 1. Use spices as per your choice.  2. I have used Bafat powder. You can use chilly powder+coriander powder+jeera powder instead of bafat.  Bafat powder recipe : https://lavisdelicacies.blogspot.com/2023/02/bafat-powder.html 3. I have baked this in air fryer. You can bake in oven.  Recipe: Ingredients: Pastry sheets ( as needed) For the filling : 1/4 kg chicken keema
