Healthy Chats 


Mumbai is famous for it's varieties of chats. Chat i am sure, is everyone's favourite.  

My sons love all types of chats & i try to prepare all their favourite chats in a healthy way at home. 

Try these healthy recipes and serve your children  healthy , nutritious & super delicious chats at home. 

Pani Puri


Recipe :

Ingredients:

  • Puri ( as you need)
  • Sprouted gren gram
  • Finely chopped onion
  • Chat masala
  • Sev for garnishing 
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind pulp
  • Jaggery
  • Few mint leaves
  • Pani Puri masala
  • Black salt 
  • Water as needed 

Method:


Mix sprouted green gram with onion, chat masala, pinch of salt & keep aside.
 
In a bowl add required quantity water, mix tamarind pulp, jaggery, Pani Puri masala, pinch of black salt and crushed mint leaves.  Pani is ready . 

Crack a small hole in the centre of puris. Stuff it with sprout mixture.  Top it with little sev. 
Dip these puris in the flavoured pani & serve immediately before it gets soggy. 
Delicious , healthy pani puri is ready to serve. 

Please note:

You can use ready made puris or homemade ones. 
You can add sweet chutney & spicy chutney too if you wish.

Healthy Dahi vada😋

Vada is usually deep fried and it absorbs lots of oil. Here i have tried this healthy version of dahi vada where very less oil is used. 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soaked urad dal
  • 2 tsp roasted raw rice. 
  • Curds
  • Salt to taste
  • Little chat masala
  • Plain bundi
  • Tempering ingredients
  • ( Mustard, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger, hing, coriander leaves)

Method:

Grind  soaked urad dal with roasted rice to a fine paste. Ferment overnight and add salt to taste. Mix well. 

Grease guliappa   pan with oil or ghee. Add a spoonful of vada batter in each hole. Cover & fry for 1-2 minutes on both sides. 

In a bowl mix  curds  & salt to taste & season it with mustard, curry leaves, green chillies, ginger,hing & coriander leaves.

Pour this curd mixture on prepared vadas ,  sprinkle little chat masala and crispy bundi . 

Delicious, healthy dahi vadas are ready😋😋
