Banana Halwa

Banana Halwa

Halwa in 15 minutes???

Yes! You can prepare delicious banana halwa in just 15 minutes!

Banana halwa is my favourite sweet.

But i usually avoid buying it from the store as it contains lots of sugar & ghee/oil.

Whenever i crave for this sweet, i prepare it at home in a healthy way.

I prepare my own version of quick & easy, healthy banan halwa which needs very few ingredients available in the pantry.

Try using Nendran bananas for better results.  Here i have used only 2 bananas & 2 tbsp ghee. You can use more ghee for better & richer texture.

This tasty halwa just melts in your mouth &  can be served as a dessert or a tea time snack.

Here i used jaggery instead of sugar.  You can use sugar if you wish.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripened Nendran bananas
  • 2tbsp wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup jaggery ( as required)
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Few dry fruits
  • Pinch of Cardamom powder

Method:

Peel & slice Nendran bananas. Add to the grinding jar.

Grind to a smooth paste.

Add 2 tbsp wheat flour. Pulse for  about 10-12 seconds.

Banana paste is ready.

Heat 1 tbsp ghee. Add dryfruits & fry for 1 minute.

Now add banana paste. Add jaggery.  Mix well. Cook on a medium flame for 4-5 minutes.

Add 1 tbsp ghee. Mix well & cook for another 5-6 minutes on a slow flame.

You will get this sticky texture.

Grease any desired plate or dish.
Pour the mixture & flatten with a spoon.  Allow it to cool for 1-2 hours.

Slice as per your choice.

Super delicious banana halwa is ready.

It's soft, moist & just melts in your mouth.

Enjoy this delicious sweet with your loved ones.

Please note:

This  halwa not as chewy as the store brought one. If you need this to be chewy , you have to add extra ghee & sugar and cook it for atleast for  another 15 minutes.

You can add maida/ all purpose flour instead of wheat flour.
