Paneer Cake/Chenna Poda

CHENNA PODA/ PANEER CAKE


This is a super delicious sweet dish from the state of Odisha.  'Chenna' is almost similar to paneer & both are made using the same method. Chenna has some moisture in it whereas paneer is set to get a firm block .

My  younger son loves anything made with milk products , so i just gave it a try. 

Such a simple, easy recipe which turned into mouth watering, super soft cake. 

This dish requires full cream milk or fresh paneer/ cottage cheese.  Sugar can be used as per your choice. I have used less sugar. 

Try this very healthy, nutritious, mouth watering snack for your kids. 


RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 litre full cream milk. 
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2-3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp semolina/ fine rava
  • 1tsp ghee
  • 1/4tsp cardamom powder
  • Few dryfruits of your choice. 

Method:

Heat milk in a huge  cooking vessel & allow it to boil. 

Add lemon juice & boil for 15 seconds. 

Drain the curdled milk over a colander. 

Add this chenna to a mixing bowl. 

Add sugar & mash with potato masher. 

Add semolina, ghee & mix well. 
Now add dryfruits, cardamom powder & mix well.  

Pour this mixture  into the  greased  baking tin. 

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes. 

Delicious Chenna poda is ready. 

 Cool.  

Cut into desired pieces. 

Its super soft & just melts in the mouth.
