Whole Wheat Naan
Naan is a leavened flatbread, usually prepared using all purpose flour and cooked in a tandoor.
Here i have used whole wheat flour to prepare these delicious naans. I prefer cooking it on a stovetop.
This can be prepared very easily with very few basic ingredients available at home.
Different types of toppings such as garlic topping, pesto topping etc., Can be used to make this dish super delicious & attractive.
Step by step recipe is mentioned below.
RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 400 gms of wheat flour
- 1 egg(optional)
- 1/4tsp yeast
- Pinch of sugar
- Little lukewarm water
- 1 tsp butter
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for topping:
- Few sesame seeds
- Coriander leaves
- Butter
Method:
Add rest of the ingredients to the Yeast water & mix well. Kneed this to a soft dough using required quantity water.
Take required amount of dough. Slightly flatten. Sprinkle little sesame seeds & coriander leaves & roll it into a oval shaped slightly thicker naan. ( Any shape of your choice)
Gently lift the naan, apply little water on the reverse side & place the reverse side on the tava. Gently press the edges.
You can see the bubbles appearing on the naan. Slowly flip the tava upside down & fry naan directly on flame till it turns slightly golden brown as shown in the picture. Move the pan front and back to roast evenly on all sides.
