Pork Chilli

It is an Indo - Chinese dish which is loaded with flavours. This spicy, tangy, slightly sweet dish is loved by most of us.  

Step by step recipe is mentioned below. I never add any food colour in my recipes.  You can add if you wish. 


Recipe:

For 1/2 kg pork cubes. 

A. Ingredients for marination:

  • 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1tbsp soy sauce
  • 1tbsp red chilly sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • Salt to taste

B. Ingredients for frying:

  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 chopped green chillies
  • 6 flakes of chopped garlic
  • 1/2" chopped ginger
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chilly sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar

C. Ingredients for garnishing:

  • 1 Diced onion
  • 1 Diced capcicum
  • Chopped spring onion
  • Chopped coriander leaves

METHOD

STEP 1

Add all the ingredients listed under A to pork cubes & mix well. 

Keep marinated pork aside for minimum 2 hours. Overnight is better. 


STEP 2

Fry marinated pork in a nonstick pan without adding any oil as pork releases its own fat while frying. 

STEP 3

Remove and keep aside.  Discard the fat & retain only 2 tbsp fat. 

STEP 4

Fry 1 diced onion & 1 diced capcicum in 1 tbsp pork fat & keep aside. You can use oil instead of pork fat. 

STEP 5

Add all the ingredients ( except sauces) listed under B, one by one and fry just for 1-2 minutes. 

STEP 6

Add sauces & vinegar, salt & 1/2tsp sugar (optional). Mix well. 

STEP 7

Add 2 tsp cornflour mixed in half cup water & mix well. 

STEP 8

Add pork, mix well, add slightly roasted onion & capcicum. Mix well. 

STEP 9

Serve hot  garnished with spring onion toppings & chopped coriander  leaves. 

Delicious pork chilli is ready.
